Podcast Interview with Mike Kazar, CTO Avere Systems
Before I went on holiday I managed to have a chat with Mike Kazar, Chief Technology Officer for and co-founder of Avere Systems. Prior to founding Avere, Mike worked at Netapp after founding Spinnaker, which was acquired by Netapp in 2003 and was developed into Data ONTAP Cluster-mode. Mike was recently awarded the IEEE Johnson Award for Lifetime Contributions to Data Storage, an award that has been previously presented to such notable luminaries as Moshe Yanai (EMC’s Symmetrix and IBM’s XIV inventor).
In the interview I get to talk about the early days of his career, including development of the Andrew File System and drink dispenser monitoring!
